VALORANT Champions 2025
The VALORANT Champions 2025 Opening Ceremony at Paris's Accor Arena demonstrated how technical innovation and narrative craft can elevate esports storytelling. The ceremony, featuring performances from 347aidan, templuv, Qing Madi, and 8AE, delivered a show that expanded the emotional range audiences expect from championship events.
For the first time ever, this year’s Opening Ceremony included the world premiere of a narrative cinematic chapter, but rather than treating this as a separate element, the show wove cinematic and live performance together, cutting seamlessly back and forth with unique visual transitions that blurred the line between our world and the game world.
What really stood out this year was the show's emotional range. Sure, the finale brought the hype—using specialized camera techniques to create “impossible” laser effects that seemed to freeze light mid-air and then pull it back down to earth – but the ceremony also achieved something new for the franchise: genuine emotional resonance in its quieter moments. Alongside the expected high-energy finale, the show included a more contemplative Act 2 performance that drew comments from viewers that were moved to tears—a tonal shift that proved VALORANT can deliver intimate, heartfelt moments without sacrificing spectacle.
