FIFA WORLD CUP 2026 FINAL HALFTIME SHOW

For the first-ever FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final Halftime Show, Global Citizen and FIFA partnered with Done+Dusted to bring together an unprecedented lineup of global superstars at the intersection of sports, culture, and purpose. Staged live from MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19 and broadcast globally, the show was curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin and directed by D+D partner Hamish Hamilton, in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund's initiative to raise money for children's education worldwide.

The event was watched by nearly 2 billion viewers around the world and drew a crowd of more than 80,000 in the stadium, breaking the record for the most-watched FIFA World Cup final in history.

With Global Citizen, D+D led creative and broadcast for the production under executive producer and D+D partner Guy Carrington, working alongside production company DPS. The lineup included Madonna, Shakira with Burna Boy, BTS, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, the New York Philharmonic and the Simón Bolívar Orchestra under Gustavo Dudamel, the Ghetto Kids, the PS22 Chorus, and the Muppets and Sesame Street — complete with a cast of more than 300 performers on the pitch.

Protecting the pitch beneath a full-scale live production was a central production challenge, met through extensive camera and wardrobe testing and a rehearsal process built around achieving a spectacular show with zero impact on the field of play. The show was anchored by moments built to underscore a theme of unity, carried through into its centerpiece design element: a pitch tarp conceived as a tribute to the unifying power of love. The tarp included handwritten phrases and doodles from children in nine languages, framed by a border of 211 hand-drawn jerseys, one for each of FIFA's member associations.

Beyond the global spectacle, the show turned the world's attention toward the larger purpose of helping the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund advance its mission to give children everywhere access to a quality education.
