BTS The Comeback LIVE
For Netflix, Done+Dusted partnered with HYBE to produce BTS’s comeback—not as a concert, but as a live global moment engineered for Live Streaming.
Staged in Gwanghwamun Square with Gyeongbokgung Palace as the backdrop, the production turned one of Seoul’s most historic sites into a fully integrated show environment. Every creative decision, from stage orientation to screen design, was built to serve both the 100,000+ fans in the square and a global streaming audience watching in real time.
D+D led the stage creative and Live Stream approach. Designing a show that could hold cinematic scale while functioning as a live transmission: 23 cameras capturing over 108TB of footage, mapped through detailed pre-visualization and precise camera choreography. Stage and screen layouts were engineered through sightline studies to ensure clarity across the square and through the lens, while lighting, graphics, and art direction worked as one system rather than separate layers.
Audience interaction wasn’t additive—it was built into the show logic. SFX timed to both performance beats and broadcast rhythm ensured the crowd read as lively on camera as it felt in person. D+D managed talent, dancers, and external creative partners across a multilingual production operating in eight languages.
The scale behind the scenes matched what was on screen: 1,075 crew (1,000 local, 75 international), nearly 5,000 security and city personnel.
The outcome reflected the scale and precision of the production. The special debuted as the #1 title in 77 countries on Netflix, drawing 18.4 million global live viewers (Live+1) and marking the platform’s first-ever standalone live concert stream.
This wasn’t about scaling a concert for streaming. It was about building a live show natively for a global platform—and proving that a city, a broadcast, and a fanbase can operate as one system.
