We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert NEW YORK CITY 2021
We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert took place on the Great Lawn in Central Park on August 21st in front of a vaccinated crowd of 60,000 people. D+D partnered with music legend Clive Davis, Mayor Bill De Blasio, Live Nation and CNN to produce an epic five-hour concert celebrating NYC’s comeback from Covid-19.
The superstar acts included Jon Batiste, Andrea Bocelli, Kane Brown, LL COOL J, Elvis Costello, Lucky Daye, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Cynthia Erivo, Jimmy Fallon, Jennifer Hudson, Wyclef Jean, Journey, JP Saxe and Julia Michaels, The Killers, Gayle King, Don Lemon, Barry Manilow, Maluma, New York Philharmonic, Polo G, Carlos Santana, Paul Simon, Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, and Rob Thomas.
In an unpredictable year, this night in NYC was no different. Rain and lightning forced the show to end early and evacuate the park. While some acts never made it to the stage, New Yorkers are tough as nails and a possible second show may be on the way. As Barry Manilow says, we will make it through the rain.
