The 72nd Emmy Awards GLOBAL 2020
The 72nd Emmys were a beast unlike any other -- the first major live award show since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. With nominees around the world, the production arranged for remote operated camera kits, hi-quality web cameras or in a few instances socially distanced crews to install in 114 nominees' homes globally.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the live show from our command center at Staples Center, with in-person guests including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudakis, Anthony Anderson, Sterling K. Brown, Jason Bateman, Zendaya, Tracee Ellis Ross, Cynthia Erivo and more. Musical legend and internet sensation DJ D-Nice kept us moving live from our stage throughout the night.
Schitt's Creek made history by sweeping the Comedy categories and accepted their awards live from a viewing party in Toronto. Tyler Perry was awarded the Governors Award for his outstanding career achievements. Other big wins for Successsion and Watchmen made for a joyous night as nominees accepted their awards virtually, via live Emmy delivery and magic boxes!
