The 2022 Laureus World Sports Awards

Nelson Mandela (Laureus Founding Patron) said the following at the first Laureus World Sports Awards. “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does… Sport can create hope where once there was only despair… ”

Given the tragedies the world is witnessing in Ukraine and other conflict zones, his words have never felt so relevant and are a timely reminder that there is much more that unites us than divides us.

D+D are proud to have produced our 17th Laureus World Sports Awards (in 12 countries) in 2022 in Sevilla, Spain - Hosted by skiing’s sporting icon and multiple Laureus Award Winner Lindsey Vonn.

The show is broadcast today in over 180 countries.
