Hamish Hamilton to Direct ‘Flight Of The Conchords’ HBO Comedy Special Reunion
This May, Jermaine Clement and Bret McKenzie are bringing their comedic antics back to HBO for an hour long special. Hamish Hamilton will direct the special, which is set to be taped live before an audience during the duo's UK tour and will feature new songs as well as some of their classic favorites. The show is also being produced by the dynamic duo, along with Mike Martinovich.
Clement and McKenzie debuted on HBO in 2005 in their comedy series One-Night Stand, which returned to the network in 2007 for the debut season of the series Flight of the Conchords, which followed fictionalized versions of their lives in New York City. The show received high praise and quickly became a cult favorite and an international sensation. Flight of the Conchords earned ten Emmy nominations over its two-season run on HBO, while their album “The Distant Future” won Best Comedy Album at the 2008 Grammy Awards.
