A Look Back On 2017
This was a landmark year for Done + Dusted; in 2017 we racked up a roster of incredible live shows and a staggering year of firsts. The Laureus World Sports Awards travelled to Monaco with host Huge Grant stepping into the role for the first time ever. The 4th annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards was once again hosted by Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and proved to be the slimiest and most exciting yet, with wildly ambitious challenges and the biggest stage UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion has ever seen.
This year Done + Dusted teamed up with Apple Music to stream exclusive live performances from P!nk at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles and Sam Smith from London, and worked with EIF to produce XQ: Superschool Live!, two straight hours of roadblock television stacked with legendary musical artists, superstar guests, and young, passionate innovators and entrepreneurs poised to change the world.
In September we brought you three straight days of the hottest artists in the world, live from VMA weekend in Los Angeles. In October we brought you the British Academy Britannia Awards hosted by British comedian Jack Whitehall for the second year in a row. In November we brought you the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, direct from Shanghai for the first time ever, complete with the biggest stage and the longest lineup of international supermodels in the show’s history. In December, we staged an epic live ceremony in Abu Dhabi commemorating the UAE’s 46th National Day, a celebration years in the making.
Meanwhile in Los Angeles, we partnered with the incomparable Gwen Stefani to develop, stage and produce her first ever NBC Christmas Special, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, an hour-long show inspired by her 2017 Christmas album and packed with original music and special guest stars.
The Fashion Awards brought us back to London just in time for Christmas, and we rounded out the year with another incredible first: AD+D http://adandd.tv forged new ground in the world of online gaming and partnered with the explosive mobile game development company Supercell to stream the Clash Royale Crown Championship World Finals. After 6 straight hours of live gameplay, we crowned our champion - Mexico’s Sergio Ramos.
Done + Dusted is proud of every project we have been a part of this year; each one has challenged us, inspired us, and expanded our scope of abilities. From international online gaming competitions to exclusive concert specials, from high-profile global award shows to the most-watched fashion show on the planet, and everything in between. We are humbled by the incredible people we have gotten to work alongside, and we look forward to another year of firsts.
2018, bring it on.
